Hoards: The Hidden History of Ancient Britain and Ireland
Discover buried treasure in an exhibition that focuses on hoarding in ancient Britain and Ireland. Explore why people put precious objects into the ground and did not retrieve them. The exhibition brings together finds from the British Museum and Salisbury Museum, ranging from Bronze Age weapons to spectacular Iron Age gold torcs. The display also highlights hoards from National Museums NI’s own collections including two magnificent Roman rings from Murlough, County Down. The exhibition is generously supported by the Dorset Foundation in memory of Harry M Weinrebe.
