A new way to \u2018chill out\u2019 on a Sunday afternoon begins this coming weekend, with a unique cr\u00e8che for adults.<\/p>\n

Belfast City Council\u2019s new \u2018Electronic Cr\u00e8che\u2019 is opening in the newly refurbished Crescent Arts Centre from 1pm \u2013 4pm every Sunday, from 25 April.<\/p>\n

Part of the \u2018Sunday in the City\u2019 programme, organised by the council in partnership with trans, the \u2018Electronic Cr\u00e8che\u2019 will offer the chance to relax to the sounds of the best Belfast DJs, with a chance to catch up with friends old and new, browse the Sunday papers \u2013 and even take advantage of the wi-fi and Nintendo Wii on offer \u2013 all for free.<\/p>\n

\u2018Sunday In The City\u2019 has been proving a huge hit with shoppers, culture vultures and those just looking for a weekend \u2018chillout\u2019, with a mix of\u00a0 old favourites and new experiences designed to appeal to all ages and tastes, from music and circus, to theatre and tours, and markets to art exhibitions.<\/p>\n

Kerrie Sweeney, Belfast City Council\u2019s Tourism, Culture and Arts Manager, said:
\n\u201cWe\u2019re delighted to be introducing yet another exciting new regular event to the \u2018Sunday In The City\u2019 programme \u2013 and what better place to come and relax and hear the latest sounds from Belfast DJs than the newly refurbished Crescent Arts Centre?<\/p>\n

\u201cThese events, from weekly tours of our galleries, to the monthly Fashion Souk at the Ulster Hall, the monthly C\u00e9il\u00ed at An Chult\u00farlann and family events at the Black Box, are energising our city like never before\u201d.<\/p>\n

Kathryn Thomson, Chief Operating Officer with the Northern Ireland Tourist Board, added:<\/p>\n

“NITB is delighted to be supporting ‘Sunday in the City’ through the Tourism Innovation Fund.\u00a0 The ‘Electronic Creche’ will be offering a cultural alternative for visitors to Belfast on a Sunday through music and innovation.\u00a0 We welcome this exciting approach to tourism which seeks to improve the visitor experience.”
\nThe \u2018Sunday In The City\u2019 programme is presented by Belfast City Council in partnership with trans and part funded by the European Regional Development Fund, under the European Sustainable Competitiveness Programme for Northern Ireland, administered by the Northern Ireland Tourist Board.<\/p>\n
