\"\"<\/a>Tennent\u2019s Lager<\/strong> and MCD<\/strong> <\/strong>today (4th<\/sup> March) confirmed that Tennent\u2019s Vital<\/strong> is back for 2016 with a red hot line up for Boucher Road Playing Fields on\u00a0Thursday 25th<\/sup> August<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Taking to the main stage for what promises to be a phenomenal headline set will be Red Hot Chili Peppers<\/strong> joined by special guests,\u00a0Fall Out Boy.<\/strong><\/p>\n

One of the most successful acts in rock history, the Red Hot Chili Peppers<\/strong> have sold over 60 million albums, including five multi-platinum LPs.\u00a0 They have six Grammy Awards<\/a> to their credit, including \u2018Best Rock Album\u2019 for Stadium Arcadium<\/em>, \u2018Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group\u2019 for Dani California<\/em>, \u2018Best Rock Song\u2019 for Scar Tissue<\/em> and \u2018Best Hard Rock Performance With Vocal\u2019 for Give It Away<\/em> \u2026\u00a0 creating for themselves a worldwide fan base that spans the generations.\u00a0 The band holds the all-time record for most No.1 singles at Alternative Radio – a total of eleven singles with a combined 81 weeks at No.1. No surprise, then, when the band which came together in LA back in 1983 was inducted into the\u00a0Rock and Roll Hall of Fame<\/a> in 2012.<\/p>\n

The US giants of rock\u00a0 last played Belfast as part of the MTV Europe Music Awards in 2011, and RHCP\u2019s return to Northern Ireland has been hotly anticipated with much speculation on whether singer Anthony Kiedis, bass player Flea, drummer Chad Smith and guitarist Josh Klinghoffer would play Tennent\u2019s Vital.<\/p>\n

Chicago\u2019s favourite rockers, Fall Out Boy<\/strong>, made it big on the international stage with a run of amazing albums. Infinity On High hit the No.1 album slot in 2007 and Save Rock And Roll took the slot again in 2013. \u00a0American Beauty\/American Psycho<\/em> was their sixth studio album, spinning off three solid chart singles: Centuries<\/em>, Uma Thurman, Irresistible (featuring Demi Lovato)<\/em>.\u00a0 The album also includes an alternate version of Immortals<\/em>, the band\u2019s RIAA Gold, UK No 1 single from the soundtrack of the record-setting Disney movie, Big Hero 6.<\/em><\/p>\n

Although the Illinois foursome – of Patrick Stump, Pete Wentz, Andy Hurley and Joe Trohman \u2013 have been making mega hits for 10 years, \u00a0it wasn\u2019t until November last year that they won their first American Music Award<\/a> for favourite artist.<\/p>\n

Last year\u2019s Tennent\u2019s Vital<\/strong> saw a top line-up including Calvin Harris, Ellie Goulding, The Script and Kodaline play to some 65,000 music fans at Boucher Road Playing Fields, and this year\u2019s event is set once again bring some of the best musical talent on the planet to Belfast for an unforgettable festival experience.<\/p>\n
