{"id":11793,"date":"2016-06-15T10:22:26","date_gmt":"2016-06-15T09:22:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/?p=11793"},"modified":"2016-06-15T10:24:01","modified_gmt":"2016-06-15T09:24:01","slug":"are-you-miss-armoy-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/2016\/06\/are-you-miss-armoy-2016\/","title":{"rendered":"Are You Miss Armoy 2016?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>ENTRIES are now open for this year\u2019s Harrigan Fuels Miss Armoy competition, run in association with Armoy Motorcycle Road Racing Club, which will take place on Thursday 28<sup>th<\/sup> July 2016 in the corporate hospitality marquee, Armoy.<\/h1>\n<figure id=\"attachment_11794\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-11794\" style=\"width: 455px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/press25.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-large wp-image-11794 \" title=\"press\" src=\"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/press25-758x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"455\" height=\"614\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-11794\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Pictured is last year\u2019s Miss Armoy Katherine Kennedy with \u2018Man of the Meeting\u2019 and Torquetronics Superbike Open winner Guy Martin at the 2015 Armoy Road Races.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The competition is one of the major highlights of Bike week, with young women coming from all over the Causeway Coast and Glens to take part.<\/p>\n<p>Successful candidates who take part can be promised a platform perfect for pursuing a modeling career, especially with past winners including Miss Northern Ireland 2014 and Miss NW200.<\/p>\n<p>Chairman of Armoy Motorcycling Road Racing Club, William Munnis said, \u201cThe Miss Armoy competition is a firm fixture in the Armoy Road Races calendar.\u00a0 We are proud to host the competition and would encourage visitors to the races to come along and support the event as it will be a great evening.\u00a0 The event has a set of guidelines and young ladies can expect to be interviewed twice, the first occasion as a \u2018biker girl\u2019 and the second, wearing their \u2018party gear\u2019. Of course, the winner and runners up must be enthusiastic, up for a challenge and willing to take part on Race Day on Saturday 30<sup>th<\/sup> July 2016.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>2015 Miss Armoy winner, Katherine Kennedy said, \u201cI have loved being Miss Armoy as the competition was great fun and it\u2019s an experience I\u2019ll never forget.\u00a0 I really enjoyed being involved on race day and helping out on the podium.\u00a0 I got to meet all of the riders and just loved the buzz of the racing.\u00a0 I\u2019d recommend taking part in Miss Armoy as it helped boost my confidence and it\u2019s great to be part of a local event.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The first four\u00a0runner-ups will also be expected to appear at the Race Event on Saturday 30<sup>th<\/sup> July 2016<span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\">,<\/span> from 9.30am until racing finishes helping out on the grid at the start of each race.<\/p>\n<p>William Munnis continues, \u201cI\u2019d like to take this opportunity to thank Harrigan Fuels, our main sponsor.
