Was he a saint or a sinner?<\/p>\n\u2018The Rebel Crown\u2019, written and performed by award winning actor and writer Owen O\u2019Neill, will take an irreverent look at what might have been. One thing is certain. Red Hugh was one of Ireland\u2019s greatest warrior chieftains, a master tactician on the field of battle, undone in the end by treachery. \u2018The Rebel Crown\u2019 will commemorate the 400th anniversary of his death in Rome in 1616 aged 66. \u2018The Rebel Crown\u2019 will be staged on Friday 24th<\/sup> June at 8pm. Packed with tales of head the balls and heretics. His subjects range from revolutionary reformists to bonfire builders.
