{"id":11972,"date":"2016-07-12T08:23:07","date_gmt":"2016-07-12T07:23:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/?p=11972"},"modified":"2016-07-12T08:23:07","modified_gmt":"2016-07-12T07:23:07","slug":"renowned-summer-school-returns-to-the-market-place","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/2016\/07\/renowned-summer-school-returns-to-the-market-place\/","title":{"rendered":"RENOWNED SUMMER SCHOOL RETURNS TO THE MARKET PLACE"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>The 29<sup>th<\/sup> John Hewitt International Summer School is making a welcome return to The Market Place Theatre in Armagh from Monday 25<sup>th<\/sup> until Saturday 29<sup>th<\/sup> July, extended for the first time to six days.<\/h1>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/PicMonkey-Collage3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-large wp-image-11973\" title=\"PicMonkey Collage\" src=\"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/PicMonkey-Collage3-1023x791.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"430\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a>This year\u2019s celebration of culture and creativity will feature talks, readings, theatre, performances, discussions and workshops from well-known writers, performers and esteemed speakers from across the UK, Ireland and beyond. The theme is \u2018A Role in History: the Rising, the Great War and a Shared Past\u2019, and will look at the influences \u2013 cultural, political, economic and historical which led both men and women, Nationalist and Unionist, to choose various \u2018roles\u2019 in 1912, 1914, 1916 and consider the factors old and new on those who have enlisted in numerous conflicts since then.
