{"id":12695,"date":"2016-10-06T11:17:03","date_gmt":"2016-10-06T10:17:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/?p=12695"},"modified":"2016-10-06T11:17:03","modified_gmt":"2016-10-06T10:17:03","slug":"a-west-end-cast-for-blood-brothers-returns-to-the-millennium-forum-this-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/2016\/10\/a-west-end-cast-for-blood-brothers-returns-to-the-millennium-forum-this-week\/","title":{"rendered":"A WEST END CAST FOR BLOOD BROTHERS RETURNS TO THE MILLENNIUM FORUM THIS WEEK"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Hit West End touring production of <em>Blood Brothers<\/em> returns to the Millennium Forum for a week-long run.<\/h1>\n<p>Joining \u2018the definitive Mrs Johnstone\u2019, Lyn Paul, is a hugely talented cast, many of whom have starred in various West End performances of this smash hit Bill Kenwright musical.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/H6JpILMfNB4\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Sean Jones is returning as Mickey, a role that he has portrayed for many years.\u00a0 Originally from Wales, Sean was given the honour of Sean was recently given the huge honour of being chosen to play Mickey in the final cast of <em>Blood<\/em> <em>Brothers <\/em>for its emotional send-off from the Phoenix Theatre in the West End.<\/p>\n<p>Danielle Corlass also returns in the role of Linda, a role she played in the Phoenix Theatre in London.\u00a0 Other credits include: The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Grease, Beauty &amp; the Beast and Whistle Down The Wind.<\/p>\n<p>Graham Martin has spent four years in the UK touring production of Blood Brothers as Policeman\/Teacher, a role he also portrayed in the West End.\u00a0 Other West End credits include: Andrew Lloyd Webber\u2019s <em>The New Starlight Express<\/em> (Apollo Victoria), a show he was associated with for over 10 years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lyn Paul<\/strong> returns to the iconic role, one she first played in 1997. Lyn played Mrs Johnstone in the final West End performances at the Phoenix Theatre in 2012. She has also starred in the UK tour of <em>Cabaret<\/em> in 2013 as Fraulein Schneider, in Boy George\u2019s musical <em>Taboo <\/em>and in <em>Footloose &#8211; the Musical.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Blood Brothers<\/em> played its debut performance in Liverpool in 1983 and has gone on to be a West End and Broadway smash hit show.\u00a0 Hailed as one of the best musicals of all time, <em>Blood Brothers, <\/em>written by award-winning playwright <strong>Willy Russell<\/strong> has triumphed across the globe. Scooping up no fewer than four awards for best musical in London and seven Tony Award nominations on Broadway, <em>Blood Brothers<\/em> is simply unmissable and unbeatable. This epic tale of Liverpool life ran in London\u2019s West End for 24 years and exceeded 10,000 performances. It is one of only three musicals ever to achieve that milestone.<\/p>\n<p><em>Blood Brothers<\/em> tells the captivating and moving story of twin boys separated at birth, only to be reunited by a twist of fate and a mother\u2019s haunting secret. The memorable score includes <em>A Bright New Day<\/em>, <em>Marilyn Monroe <\/em>and the emotionally charged hit <em>Tell Me It\u2019s Not True<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>When Mrs Johnstone, a young mother, is deserted by her husband and left to her own devices to provide for seven hungry children she takes a job as a housekeeper in order to make ends meet.<\/p>\n<p>It is not long before her brittle world crashes around her when she discovers herself to be pregnant yet again \u2013 this time with twins! In a moment of weakness and desperation, she enters a secret pact with her employer which leads inexorably to the show\u2019s shattering climax. A sensational cast, incredible show stopping music, remarkable staging and five star performances make <em>Blood Brothers<\/em><strong> <\/strong>an enthralling night of entertainment.<\/p>\n<p>Willy Russell<strong> <\/strong>is undeniably one of this country\u2019s leading contemporary dramatists.
