{"id":13787,"date":"2017-04-03T21:57:56","date_gmt":"2017-04-03T20:57:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/?p=13787"},"modified":"2017-04-03T22:00:28","modified_gmt":"2017-04-03T21:00:28","slug":"faultlines-and-fractures-art-exhibition-at-flowerfield","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/2017\/04\/faultlines-and-fractures-art-exhibition-at-flowerfield\/","title":{"rendered":"Faultlines and Fractures Art exhibition at Flowerfield."},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\">A new exhibition exploring the complex issue of identity through the use of painting, drawing, glass and photography opens at Flowerfield Arts Centre this month.<\/span><\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright wp-image-13788\" src=\"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/press2-2-671x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"215\" height=\"328\" \/>\u2018Faultlines and Fractures\u2019 features the work of artists Rosie McClelland and Pamela Greene.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\">Both artists are drawn to imperfections in the human body and nature, and through their work, they try to communicate that it is through these \u2018faultlines\u2019 that we find our own \u2018DNA\u2019. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\">Rosie McClelland was born in Belfast. For over 17 years she had a career in design and fashion illustration in London and Germany. Since her return to Belfast, Rosie has been painting and exhibiting her work widely throughout Ireland and abroad. She is renowned for her big, beautiful pastel portraits, and one was recently selected for the Royal Society of Portrait Painters\u2019 exhibition at the Mall Galleries, London.\u00a0 She is a member of both The Arts Society of Ulster and The Pastel Society of Ireland\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\">Pamela Greene is an artist and published poet who works in the media of kiln-formed glass and photography. Her work for this exhibition includes kiln formed glass inspired by the cold blues and grey greens of Icelandic landscape.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial','sans-serif';\">The exhibition opens in The Main Gallery at Flowerfield Arts Centre on Saturday 8th April at noon.
