The much-loved literature festival which unveiled it\u2019s 2017 programme last week is a staple on the Ards and North Down Borough Council\u2019s Arts calendar and will this year run from 14 -24 September.<\/h1>\n<figure id=\"attachment_14880\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-14880\" style=\"width: 500px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-14880\" src=\"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/08\/press2-25-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-14880\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Young Aspects fans Emily &amp; Rhys Eakin are looking forward to this year\u2019s Aspects Festival. With plenty of kids\u2019 events, the programme offers something for the whole family. This year\u2019s Festival runs from 14 \u2013 24 September.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Myra Zepf \u2013 Children\u2019s Writing Fellow for Northern Ireland will host children\u2019s workshops at North Down Museum on Saturday September 16.\u00a0 Myra will be reading from her book \u2018Don\u2019t Go To School.\u2019 Take the little ones along to hear the story of Benno the bear who can\u2019t wait to go to school, this is a fun session in which the children play a game with the author based on the story. Myra will also be running a story-making workshop where children will learn a writing trick behind the funniest of stories, no pens or paper required, but an epic brain storming session \u2013 sparked by a sack-full of props \u2013 expect lots of laughs!<\/p>\n<p>Also on Saturday 16, Stephen Beggs will perform \u2018My Father\u2019s Chair\u2019 at Studio 1A on Hamilton Road. This performance for families about the nature of fatherhood will explore what it\u2019s like to have a dad, be a dad and the unique relationships between kids and their fathers. Expect to be taken on a funny, emotional journey \u2013 a father\u2019s voice and perspective in the world of theatre for younger audiences.<\/p>\n<p>For more energetic youngsters \u2013 try Gruffalo yoga with Little Feet Big Moves. Taking place at North Down Museum on Sunday 17 September, this amazing yoga adventure is inspired by the popular children\u2019s story \u2018The Gruffalo.\u2019\u00a0 Young yogis will love practicing yoga poses as they re-enact the story of the brave little mouse who takes a stroll through the deep dark woods.<\/p>\n<p>Bangor Carnegie Library will be a hive of activity on Saturday 23 September with two children\u2019s workshops taking place at the venue. At 10.30am a Sensory Story: We\u2019re going on a Bear Hunt promises to be fun for little ones. Follow along with the story and enjoy the sensory themes. Dress for mess and wear comfortable clothing, lots of swishy, swash and squelching guaranteed!
