{"id":1536,"date":"2010-06-28T11:19:45","date_gmt":"2010-06-28T10:19:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.whatsonni.com\/blog\/?p=1536"},"modified":"2010-06-28T11:36:33","modified_gmt":"2010-06-28T10:36:33","slug":"festival-offers-bus-service-is-support-of-green-initiatives","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/2010\/06\/festival-offers-bus-service-is-support-of-green-initiatives\/","title":{"rendered":"Festival Offers Bus Service is Support of Green Initiatives"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Glasgowbury Music Group and Chambers Coach Hire have joined forces to encourage greener transport for this festival season.<\/h2>\n<p>In support of greener initiatives and to encourage public transport at the time of the festival, Glasgowbury and Chambers have teamed up to offer return bus services from throughout the province.<\/p>\n<p>The return bus services will operate from selected points throughout the north, departing on Friday evening (July 23rd) to allow campers to avail of two nights camping, before returning to the designated locations on Sunday after the festival.<\/p>\n<p>Buses will run from the following locations from Friday (23rd July) at 7pm and will be charged at \u00a320 for a return journey including unlimited shuttle bus service within the festival site:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Ballymena &#8211; Belfast &#8211; Coleraine &#8211; Derry &#8211; Limavady &#8211; Newry (with stops\u00a0in Armagh &amp; Dungannon) &#8211; Omagh &#8211; Strabane &#8211; Magherafelt (this service will cost \u00a312)<\/p>\n<p>All buses will depart from the festival site on Sunday 25th July at approximately 12 noon, giving campers enough time to make themselves look respectable.<\/p>\n<p>To book a place on any of the bus services or to find out more information, contact Chambers on 028 867 48152\u00a0or email\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:mail@coachireland.com\" target=\"_blank\">mail@coachireland.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>Eugene Donnelly, Business Development Manager for Chambers, said he was excited to be working in partnership with Glasgowbury while encouraging the use of public transport.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChambers and Glasgowbury share a common goal that fans get to the festival safely, securely\u00a0and on time,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to be working with\u00a0the local festival to offer festival-goers the opportunity to travel to the event with their friends in a worry free environment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Festival organiser Paddy Glasgow has urged the public to help support greener initiatives being introduced by Glasgowbury and avail of the bus services.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith so many people travelling to a rural area we want to try and encourage public transport where possible and are excited that Chambers will be offering this wide reaching service,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Glasgowbury 2010, the tenth anniversary of the &#8216;Small But Massive&#8217; festival takes place on Saturday 24th July and tickets are on sale now.
