An impressive array of local musicians, poets and visual artists have come together to support the\u00a0Save CQ Fundraiser<\/strong>\u00a0which will take place at the\u00a0Black Box i<\/strong>n Belfast\u00a0<\/strong>on\u00a0Thursday\u00a07 June<\/strong>\u00a0at\u00a07.30pm<\/strong>.<\/h1>\n

\"\"Save CQ\u00a0is a voluntary campaign group which is advocating for equitable urban development and is calling upon Castlebrooke Investments to\u00a0“Develop, Not Demolish”\u00a012 acres of Cathedral Quarter in the centre of Belfast.<\/p>\n

Featuring music from the darkly swoonsome\u00a0Ex-Isles,\u00a0<\/strong>beautiful rhythmic melodies\u00a0from\u00a0Dandy\u2019s Loft<\/strong>, high energy jazz and punk from\u00a0The Tony Strickland Quartet<\/strong>\u00a0and floor fillers\u00a0from\u00a0DJ Liam McCartan,<\/strong>\u00a0the\u00a0Save CQ Fundraiser\u00a0<\/strong>will also include a campaign update, a performance of a new piece of writing by poet\u00a0Colin Hassard<\/strong>, and a very special prize draw!<\/p>\n

Rebekah McCabe<\/strong>, Chair of the Save CQ campaign said:<\/p>\n

\u201cCathedral Quarter is the beating heart of Northern Ireland\u2019s arts and cultural scene.\u00a0 We are thrilled that so many artists and businesses have got behind the Save CQ Fundraiser and we are hoping that all those members of the public who have added their voices to the Save CQ campaign so far will do so too.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

The volunteers behind the Save CQ campaign have been fighting the current version of the Royal Exchange Development proposal for over 18 months and there\u2019s still quite a way to go!\u00a0\u00a0All funds raised at the Black Box event will support the Save CQ campaign into this next phase, to investigate alternative proposals for the area and ensure that any development creates a culturally flourishing community in the historic centre of the city.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The Save CQ campaign team has also lined up a fantastic selection of raffle prizes which have been kindly donated by local artists, businesses and event promoters:<\/p>\n
