Lewis Square has a new feature \u2013 the Poetry Jukebox.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/Y1H8122-1024x891.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17159\" width=\"512\" height=\"446\"\/><figcaption>Rachel Kennedy from EastSide Partnership,curator of Poetry Jukebox Maria McManus, featured poet Emily Murtagh from Kilkenny and Michele Bryans from EastSide Partnership.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Only 52 jukeboxes exist across global locations and this is Belfast\u2019s second ( the other location is Crescent Arts Centre).\u00a0 The Poetry Jukebox is placed on street locations with the\u00a0aim of making\u00a0poetry accessible to all. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the\u00a0C.S.\u00a0Lewis Square Poetry Jukebox,\u00a0the curators Maria McManus \u00a0and Tade Ipadeola (Nigeria) put out a call for poetry based on the\u00a0theme,\u00a0\u2018A Deeper Country\u2019 which features\u00a0in The Chronicles of Narnia\u00a0by\u00a0east Belfast-born\u00a0author C.S. Lewis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over 100 submissions were received from around the\u00a0world,\u00a0but only 20 could be included.\u00a0 The poets featured come from NI, Republic of Ireland, Scotland, England, Germany, US, Australia, Canada, Nigeria and Argentina.
