The\n Epic Journey to The 148th<\/sup> Open<\/a>, Armagh, 9 May.  Golf\u2019s\n most prestigious championship returns to Royal Portrush for the first time\n in nearly 70 years this July, and you can share in the excitement and\n civic pride with this community roadshow rolling into Armagh for its\n fourth stop. Come along and see golf\u2019s most iconic trophy, the\n Claret Jug, together with a giant #TheOpen letter sculpture made out of\n 4,000 golf balls. <\/li>
  2. International\n North West 200 Race Week Festival<\/a>, Coleraine, 11 \u2013 18 May. The\n International North West 200 road races celebrate their 90th anniversary this\n year and will take place at Causeway Coast and Glens towns including\n Portrush, Portstewart and Coleraine. Many great races and racers have\n graced the roads since the first event back in 1929.\n You can be guaranteed the warmest welcome as you experience world-class\n road racing whilst being part of the theatre and drama of the\n International North West 200.<\/li>
  3. Cathedral\nQuarter Arts Festival<\/a>, 6\u201312 May. The Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival\ncontinues its 20th<\/sup> birthday celebrations this week. Rufus\nWainwright, Anna Calvi, and Roy Walker are among the star names descending on\nBelfast\u2019s historic cultural quarter for a bumper programme of live music,\ncomedy, literature, theatre, film, visual art and more. <\/li>
  4. Slieve\n Gullion E-Bike Exploration Crossmaglen<\/a>, Newry, 7 May. In celebration\n of GeoWeek, the Ring of Gullion Landscape Partnership is offering a\n geology tour with a difference \u2013 an electric bike exploration of Slieve\n Gullion Mountain. The E-Bike Exploration is a unique opportunity to\n explore the landscape of Slieve Gullion Mountain from a bike saddle\n without the extreme exertion it usually takes to cycle up a mountainside,\n though peddling is still required.<\/li>
  5. Festival\nof Fools<\/a>, Belfast, 6 May. Established in 2004, the Festival of Fools has\nput Belfast firmly on the world map as a capital of street theatre and circus\nexcellence. The festival is the largest comedy and street theatre festival on\nthe island of Ireland, with more than 100 performances due to take place on the\nstreets of Belfast City Centre and Cathedral Quarter. All shows are free to attend, and no booking is\nrequired.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
    1. Seamus\n Heaney HomePlace and Landscape Tour<\/a>, Magherafelt, 11 May. Take a trip to Seamus Heaney HomePlace\n and experience the landscape that inspired the world renowned Nobel\n Laureate. Explore Seamus Heaney HomePlace and visit the Forge, with a few\n little extras along the way, ending with a meal, traditional music and\n poetry recitals in The Old Thatch Inn.<\/li>
    2. Art\n in the Orchard at Long Meadow Cider Company<\/a>, Craigavon, 10 May. Join a\n professional visual artist for a unique day of creativity at Long Meadow\n Farm. A unique opportunity to get out into the orchards and enjoy the\n challenge of producing your own creative response to the surrounding apple\n trees. Beginners and seasoned artists are all welcome to the workshop with\n all materials and equipment provided. Experience the magic and beauty of\n the orchard during Apple Blossom season. Includes an orchard tour with an\n opportunity to sample cider and apple juice.<\/li>
    3. Antrim\n County Fleadh<\/a>, Ballymena, 10 \u2013 12 May. Musicians across Ulster are\n preparing for a busy summer as the Comhaltas Ceolt\u00f3ir\u00ed \u00c9ireann 2019 County\n Fleadhanna get into full swing. The County Fleadhanna presents excellent\n opportunities for musicians of all ages to participate and showcase their\n unique musical talent whilst each county has a colourful itinerary that\n will be enjoyable for visitors far and wide.<\/li>
    4. Ulster\n Orchestra Rachmaninov\u2019s Second<\/a>, Derry~Londonderry, 9 May. Northern\n Ireland\u2019s own virtuoso pianist, Barry Douglas, joins the Orchestra to\n perform Rachmaninov\u2019s Second Piano Concerto, often described as one of the\n best piano concertos ever written. A masterpiece of melodic writing, it\u2019s\n no surprise that it is a regular choice on Radio 4\u2019s Desert Island Discs,\n also featuring in the film Brief Encounter and Eric Carmen\u2019s smash hit,\n All By Myself.<\/li>
    5. Scenic\n Forest Walk at Florence Court<\/a>, Enniskillen, 6 May. Join the Ranger for\n a scenic 9km trail in Florence Court forest. At the highest viewpoint\n enjoy panoramic views of Fermanagh and Lough Erne, the fourth largest lake\n in Ireland. Surrounded by lush parkland and thick woodland with Benaughlin\n Mountain rising in the background, Florence Court enjoys a majestic\n countryside setting in West Fermanagh. There is something for everyone to\n enjoy at this extensive and welcoming place.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
