Strabane\u2019s Big Weekend returns with Summer Jamm from Friday 14<\/strong>th<\/strong><\/sup> \u2013 Sunday 16<\/strong>th<\/strong><\/sup> June.\u00a0 The town centre will come alive with live music, dance, street entertainment, arts & crafts, and \u2018Strajamba\u2019 Music Festival with headline act Nathan Carter.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Summer Jamm in Strabane kicks off on Friday night with DJ\nJamie B & support in Ruby\u2019s Nightclub. \nSaturday is full of family fun from 1pm \u2013 5pm as Encore PAA will be opening the\nevent with a showcase extravaganza.  This will be followed with live music\nthroughout the town from Folk N Trad Mad, Mad Notions, Strabane Brass Band and\nTrad for Youth. To celebrate Youth 19, local\nsingers will be performing in the busking tent including Juno Hassan, Jamie\nDonnelly, Darci Wilders to name but a few.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Families will enjoy an array of street theatre, flash\nmobs, games, funfair, face\npainting, Jungle Pets, and a host of activities for the whole family to\nenjoy.  Plus a range of products and food will be available from a\nselection of stalls from Strabane Market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

North West Regional College (educational partners of\nSummer Jamm) are back with their National Award Winning Careers Team. \nJoin them at a \u2018Careers Roadshow\u2019 \u2013which will encourage people to indulge in some\nbeauty treatments, health checks, have a go at gardening and learn more about\ncomputer coding!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Closing Saturdays afternoon activities will be Class Act\nChoir with a performance that you don\u2019t want to miss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The entertainment continues from 5pm as \u2018Strajamba\u2019 live\nmusic festival is back in Canal Basin for another year of great music. \nHeadlining the big stage will be country sensation Nathan Carter, supported by some amazing local acts.  Make a night of it with food,\nlicenced bar and VIP Tent. On until 11pm, the atmosphere is sure to be electric\nwith the best of local artists and the best of Country music. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Country\nmusic continues on Sunday with a FREE family concert.  This years \u2018Country\nFest\u2019 in Canal Basin will welcome back the superb Johnny Brady, David James and a host of local\nmusicians! Join in the fun with plenty of activities including circus\nworkshops, arts & crafts and face painting! Love dancing? Then join with\nthe jiving and line dancing happening throughout the afternoon. Grab a bite to\neat at a choice of food stalls and relax and enjoy the sun in the licenced bar\narea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Summer\nJamm in Strabane is organised by Derry\nCity and Strabane District Council and supported by Strabane Business\nImprovement District (BIDS), North West\nRegional College and Youth 19. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking ahead of attending this year\u2019s festival,\nnewly-elected Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Cllr ______ said: \u201cThe\nSummer Jamm in Strabane is growing year on year to become one of Council\u2019s most\npopular annual events. Indeed, it\u2019s great to see the festival running over\nthree days \u2013 which means lots more fun and entertainment for all! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHaving viewed this year\u2019s programme, I can guarantee\nthere\u2019ll be plenty of family-friendly activities to suit everyone. I also\nexpect this year will be even more popular than previous years with a brilliant\nmix of rising and established stars on the programme. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWith\nsuch a strong programme, I have no doubts that thousands of people will visit\nthis year \u2013 firmly establishing the event as the largest celebration of live\nmusic & entertainment in Strabane\u2019s cultural calendar!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kate Duffy, Director of\nHuman Resources and Learner Services at North West Regional College added:\n\u2018We\u2019re delighted to be the official education partner for the Summer Jamm in\nStrabane.  This ongoing partnership will enable local learners to take\npart in a range of interactive career activities delivered by our National\nBeacon Award winning Careers team. We will have current students and tutors on\nhand throughout the day to answer any questions, in conjunction with a full\ntimetable of live demonstration in horticulture, joinery, health & beauty,\nplus fun competitions in weight lifting and gardening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Come\nalong and find out about our new and exciting range of courses, as we will be\nbased in Butcher street car park from 1pm \u2013 5pm on the 15th<\/sup> of June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michael\nKelly, MK\u2019s Bar and Chair of the Strabane Business Improvement District\n(BID) added: \u201cThe BID are delighted to be bringing Strajamba Live Music\nFestival to Strabane for the third year. After the huge success of Strajamba\n2018 with headline act Hothouse Flowers this year\u2019s event is aiming to be\nbigger again. We have an amazing line up of bands, across two stages headlined\nby Nathan Carter. The theme for this event\nis \u2018nurturing home grown talent\u2019 \u2013 and will host a number of performances from\nthe Wailin Banshees, David Oliver, Adam Dolan, Shonagh Forbes, Darren Doherty\n& the Heathen Choir, and multi-platinum songwriter and Eurovision finalist\nMickey Joe Harte.   Strajamba has been such a huge hit with the\npublic \u2013 and with country legend Nathan Carter headlining this year I have no\ndoubts that it will be a fantastic evening with a positive impact on the town\nof Strabane!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
