{"id":17706,"date":"2019-08-16T11:48:15","date_gmt":"2019-08-16T10:48:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/?p=17706"},"modified":"2019-08-16T11:48:16","modified_gmt":"2019-08-16T10:48:16","slug":"free-transport-available-for-groomsport-music-and-fireworks-event","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/2019\/08\/free-transport-available-for-groomsport-music-and-fireworks-event\/","title":{"rendered":"FREE Transport Available for Groomsport Music and Fireworks Event!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Free transport from Bangor, Newtownards and Donaghadee is available for the large number of people that are expected to attend this Saturday\u2019s Groomsport Music and Fireworks event!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/press-10-731x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17707\" width=\"366\" height=\"512\"\/><figcaption>Bootleg Blondie is coming to the Groomsport Music and Fireworks event.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to the increasing popularity of the event, thanks in no\nsmall part to headline act Bootleg Blondie, 19th Street Band, as well as a\nfunfair, food stalls and a spectacular fireworks display, no parking will be\navailable in the picturesque village (except for accessible spaces) or the\nsurrounding area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead, Ards and North Down Borough Council has arranged\nshuttle buses and free park and ride facilities to make the event safer and\neasier for everyone to attend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the usual free shuttle bus service from\nBangor Bus Station, a bus will be available from Gibson\u2019s Lane in Newtownards\n(with a stop at Donaghadee) and free park and ride facilities will be located\nat Bloomfield Shopping Centre in Bangor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The park and ride will operate between the centre\u2019s Marks\nand Spencer car park and the A2 at the former Groomsport Hotel. It will start\nat 4pm and run continuously throughout the day until the end of the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The free shuttle bus services from Bangor Bus Station to\nGroomsport Main Street, as well as from Newtownards\u2019 Gibson\u2019s Lane to\nGroomsport (with a stop at Donaghadee\u2019s New Street), will leave at 5.30pm,\n6.30pm, 7.30pm and 8.30pm, with return buses operating at approximately 10.30pm\nand 11pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Visitors to the event can expect to be treated to a musical\nextravaganza that includes Bootleg Blondie, the official Debbie Harry and\nBlondie tribute band.
