Here are ten exciting things taking place this week including three\nfood experiences and events (16-22 September)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/Armagh-Food-and-Cider-Festival-Armagh-P84041\/\">Armagh\nFood and Cider Festival<\/a>, Armagh, 19-22 September. An international\nextravaganza featuring a huge spread of unmissable events in venues across the\ncounty. Festival visitors to the iconic city of Armagh and its surrounding\nfruit-laden orchards can expect to raise more than a glass to an incredible\nrange of mouth-watering events. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/Wee-Buns-Preserve-the-Season-Autumn-Moy-Dungannon-P84293\/\">Wee\nBuns &#8211; Preserve the Season<\/a> , Dungannon, 20 September. Capture the essence\nof Autumn in this preserving class using foraged damsons, rose hips and\nblackberries from the local hedges and locally grown fruit.&nbsp; Learn about\nthe fundamental techniques and skills of home preserving, make your own soda\nbread and take home a jar each of jam and pickles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/Gins-and-Poitins-of-the-Mournes-Rostrevor-Newry-P84721\/\">Gins\nand Poitins of the Mournes,<\/a> Newry, 19 September. Brendan Carty of Killowen\nDistillery will host an evening dedicated at traditional bar, Crawfords, to the\ntop quality craft gin and poit\u00edn he produces in the heart of the Mournes.\nSeveral sample drinks will be served, including cocktails and mixers. The final\nsample will be a Poit\u00edn Irish Coffee. Food will also be paired with each drink.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/Art-in-the-Orchard-with-Deborah-Malcomson-Portadown-Craigavon-P84360\/\">Art\nin the Orchard with Deborah Malcomson<\/a>, Portadown, 21 September. Suitable\nfor the complete beginner, budding or seasoned artists, this workshop will\nprovide the opportunity for participants to apply their creative response to the\nsurroundings \u2013 trees, apples and landscape. Deborah Malcomson, a professional\nvisual artist will guide and support each participant through the process of\nexploring line, colour and form through a range of media. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/Festival-Lough-Erne-Enniskillen-P84296\/\">Festival\nLough Erne<\/a>, Enniskillen, 21-22 September.&nbsp; The tranquil setting of\nEnniskillen Castle will see a hustle of families and foodie lovers sampling\nlocal produce and enjoying the tranquil setting of the River Erne. From live\ncookery demos with chefs and experts to entertainment on the bandstand, it\u2019s\nset to be a fun weekend for all the family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/Mourne-Mountain-Marathon-Newcastle-P83746\/\">Mourne\nMountain Marathon<\/a>, Newcastle, 21-22 September. Ireland\u2019s only two-day\nendurance and navigation event for teams of two. Enter one of four categories,\ncovering between 35km and 55km over two days. Camp overnight and be\nself-sufficient. The Marathon is open to everyone from walkers to elite\nrunners. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/Culture-Night-and-Day-Belfast-2019-Belfast-P84941\/\">Culture\nNight and Day Belfast 2019<\/a>, Belfast, 20-21 September. Over 200 free,\nfamily-friendly events across the city centre including gigs, talks, tours,\nwalks, activities, screenings, workshops, children&#8217;s events and more. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/Deep-RiverRock-Belfast-City-Half-Marathon-Dunmurry-Belfast-P83685\/\">Deep\nRiverRock Belfast City Half Marathon<\/a>, Belfast, 22 September. Over 5,000\nparticipants are expected to take part in the largest half marathon event in\nNorthern Ireland.&nbsp; Entrants will take on the popular flat and fast 13.1\nmile route, which weaves its way throughout the four corners of Belfast city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>9.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/Montalto-Foraging-Experience-Ballynahinch-P84422\/\">Montalto\nForaging Experience<\/a>, Ballynahinch, 21 September. Take a walk with NI\nSurvival School and be introduced to some of the most common plants and trees\nthat inhabit our island and discover some of their secrets that make them\nuseful to us in edible or medicinal ways. After the return to the woodland camp\nand enjoy making tea and a light lunch from the foraged species. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>10.&nbsp;&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/Kilkeel-Walking-Food-Tour-Kilkeel-Newry-P84675\/\">Kilkeel\nWalking Food Tour<\/a>, Newry, 19 September. Enjoy a three-hour walking tour of\nKilkeel, led by an enthusiastic and experienced local tour guide.
