As\npart of the \u2018Taste the Island\u2019 initiative for 12 weeks\nDiscoverNorthernIreland.com will have the top three food experiences and events\nin their weekly  10 things to do listing. DiscoverNorthernIreland.com has\nstacks of fun things to do across NI, from family days out to gigs and cultural\nevents. Here are ten exciting things taking place this week including three\nfood experiences and events (7-13 October)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

1.       Slow\nFood Festival<\/a>, Derry~Londonderry, 9-13 October.  Slow Food is a\nglobal, grassroots organisation that promotes true enjoyment of good food with\nthe commitment to community and the environment \u2013 this two-day celebration\nshowcases the best of local, clean, fair food with  talks and demos, tours\nand tastings, street food, family fun and much more at Guildhall Square. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.       Taste\nCauseway 2019<\/a>, Coleraine, 4-27 October. The Taste Causeway event will\nshowcase the vibrant restaurant scene as well as offering a  full\nprogramme of food and drink experiences, including themed nights, taster menus,\ncookery classes, food tours, Econmusee tours, and opportunities to \u2018meet the\nmaker\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.       Mourne\nMountains Food Trail<\/a>, Annalong, 12 October. Let NI Food Tours take you off\nthe beaten track into County Down, meet the local producers and farmers, hear\ntheir stories and taste their award winning food and drink. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

4.       Portrush\nMotorcycle Beach Races<\/a>, Portrush, 12-13 October. The East Strand will be\nthe spectacular venue for the annual motorcycle beach races, organised by the\nFoyle District Motor Cycle Club, in conjunction with Causeway Coast and Glens\nCouncil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5.       One\nPot Feeds All: Talk and Book Signing with Darina Allen<\/a>, Bellaghy, 7\nOctober. Seamus Heaney HomePlace is delighted to welcome world-renowned cookery\nschool owner and bestselling author Darina Allen for an intimate talk, cookery\ndemonstration and book signing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6.       Oktoberfest<\/a>,\nBelfast, 4-19 October. Held in Custom House Square, the festival will have a\nfull range of beers to suit your palate, including Paulaner Oktoberfest Lager\nwhich is only brewed for the Munich Beer Festival. All the food and beer will\nbe served by friendly staff in traditional Bavarian costumes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7.       Walled\nCity Brewery Beer Masterclass<\/a>, Derry~Londonderry, 12 October.  A 1\u00bd hour interactive experience where you\ncan relax and let the Walled City Brewery\u2019s talented brewers tell you the\nextraordinary 9,000 year old story of brewing whilst tasting their ten house\nbeers matched with artisanal local snacks. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

8.       \u2018Learn to\u2019 Workshops<\/a>, Lisburn, 12 October. As part of Lisburn\n& Castlereagh City Council’s Food & Drink events calendar, Larchfield\nEstate is hosting a series of ‘Learn To’ workshops. From bee keeping to\nfermentation and bread and jam making there\u2019s a range of interesting workshops\non offer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

9.       Fright\nNight<\/a>, Magherafelt, 12-31 October. This year\u2019s Fright Night at Jungle NI\nwill see the return of the horrid and harrowing \u201cWoodland Trail\u201d. Freaky sets\nframe a haunting story to send shivers up your spine, coupled with special\neffects, atmospheric lighting throughout and a creepy cast of nefarious\ncreatures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

10.   2\nHour Paranormal Investigation<\/a>, Belfast, 11-31 October.  The chilling\nexpert led two hour paranormal Investigation gives visitors the opportunity to\ninteract with the spirits as they get hands on with authentic experiments using\nparanormal investigating equipment.
