Here are ten exciting things taking place this week including three\nfood experiences and events (14-20 October)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>1.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/Dine-and-Stay-Kilkeel-Newry-P84672\/\">Dine\nand Stay<\/a>, Kilkeel, 19 October. A pop up restaurant in The Barn at The Green\nHoliday Cottages will be the setting for a delightful evening meal. With a\nfocus on local produce and producers the menu will be based on the fishing and\nfarming heritage of the Kilkeel area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/Goatober-Supper-Club-Ballycastle-P84791\/\">Goatober\nSupper Club<\/a>, Ballycastle, 12 October. The forward-thinking&nbsp;\nBroughgammon Farm is run by The Cole family, who aim to maintain high standards\nin the industry by paying particular attention to animal welfare, the\nenvironment and global food security. The theme for their supper club evening\nthis month will be goat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/Long-Meadow-Farm-Cider-Tour-Portadown-Craigavon-P84806\/\">Long\nMeadow Farm\/Cider Tour<\/a>, Craigavon, 19 October. Autumn is the perfect\ntime to forage for wild berries and learn how to make your own delicious jam\nand chutney. With proceeds going to Extern\ncharity, this show at the Empire features the talents of Leah McFall, David C.\nClements, LARKS, Emma Wallace and Rebecca Fitch.&nbsp; Enjoy some of the\nhottest up and coming talent that the city has to offer while supporting a good\ncause. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/Aly-Harte-Art-Food-Workshop-Whitehead-Carrickfergus-P85055\/\">Aly\nHarte Art &amp; Food Workshop<\/a> , Whitehead, 15 October.&nbsp; Aly Harte is a\ntalented local artist, who at this event will give you some fantastic painting\npointers in a perfect coastal setting, while Lighthouse Bistro serves delicious\nfreshly made canap\u00e9s at the table using locally sourced produce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/The-Lurgan-Lectures-Place-names-in-Lurgan-From-Plantation-to-Present-Lurgan-Craigavon-P85075\/\">The\nLurgan Lectures: &#8216;Place-names in Lurgan: From Plantation to Present<\/a>,\nLurgan, 14 October.&nbsp; In this lecture at Brownlow House, Dr Frances Kane\nand Prof Michael O\u2019Mannion of the Northern Ireland Place Names Project will\nprovide an insight into the origins, meanings and transformation of the\ntownland names of Lurgan and the surrounding area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/Belfast-International-Arts-Festival-Belfast-P84860\/\">Belfast\nInternational Arts Festival<\/a>, Belfast, 15 October \u2013 3 November. This\nfestival brings an eclectic fusion of cutting-edge performances to Belfast with\nworld-class theatre, dance, visual art, music, film, literature and talks. Ta Da Irish Dance Company presents\nthe tale of the famous song &#8216;The Fields of Athenry&#8217; as you&#8217;ve never seen it\nbefore at the Cabaret Supperclub. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>10.&nbsp;&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/Ghosts-and-Gourds-Spooktacular-Saintfield-Ballynahinch-P85137\/\">Ghosts\nand Gourds Spooktacular<\/a>, Ballynahinch, 19-20 October. Halloween is\napproaching and at Rowallane Garden there is a strange feeling in the air. See\nthe garden come to life with mystical and magical myths inspired by local\nfolklore.
