To Da Bone\nis a captivating, contemporary rebel-call to the social media generation and\nexplores youth culture, identity and expression.  The cast of 11 dancers were crowd-sourced\nfrom across Europe through internet auditions, and have created this pulsing\nand electrifying performance of jumpstyle dance, with powerful intensity and\nemotion. Groundhog\nDay meets Samuel Beckett!  Real Magic\ncreates a world of absurd disconnection, struggle and comical repetition. Part\nmind-reading feat, part cabaret act, part nightmare game show, this surreal\nadventure takes its cue from popular culture and current affairs, while\nquestioning larger systems of control. Touchingly\ncombining some of the best-loved songs from musical theatre with the story of\nan estranged father and daughter, this solo show is set on the closing day of\nClery\u2019s department store in Dublin. Writer and performer Pat Kinevane received\nthe Herald Archangel Award at the 2019 Edinburgh Festival. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Staging\nSchiele<\/strong><\/a>, Sat 26 Oct, The MAC,<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Four dancers inhabit radical\nartist Egon Schiele\u2019s highly-charged world of colour, masterful lines and\nunusual perspectives that put the human body on visceral display. Shobana\nJeyasingh\u2019s award-winning choreography matches the raw intensity of Schiele,\nand scrutinises the relationship between male artist and female model; the\nviewer and the subject.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unique Instruments, Expectant Spaces<\/strong><\/a>, Fri 18 Oct – Fri 8 Nov, Ulster\nUniversity, York Street<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Metaphor,\nsimile and story-telling are at the heart of local architectural practice Hall\nMcKnight\u2019s work.  This large-scale\ninstallation, which appeared at the prestigious invitation-only 16th\ninternational Architectural Exhibition in Venice, cross-references a number of\ntheir projects including the re-imagining of new civic spaces from a variety of\ndifferent perspectives.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Octavia Poetry Collective<\/strong><\/a>, Wed 23 Oct, Ulster Sports Club, <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Octavia\nis a poetry collective for women of colour, founded by poet, Rachel Long in\nresponse to the lack of inclusivity and representation in poetry and academia.\nThe evening will explore themes of representation, cultural identity, and\nequality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lanny with Max Porter<\/strong><\/a>, Tues 22 Oct, Black Box, <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

An\ninnovative hybrid of fairy tale, fable, and myth, Lanny is Max Porter\u2019s hugely\nanticipated second novel and was recently long-listed for the Man Booker Prize\n2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\nWorst Cafe in the World<\/strong><\/a>, <\/strong>Wed\n23 – Sun 27 Oct, Worst Caf\u00e9\n(pop-up), Cotton Court<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
