In the last ten years Colin Geddis has dominated\nNorthern Irish comedy, selling out his solo stand-up shows, generating millions\nof online hits on both YouTube and Facebook and has over one million podcast\nlistens on his hugely popular \u2018General Banter\u2019 podcast. His new show is his\nbiggest to date, and in a venue that no other solo Northern Irish comedian has\never played.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\n<a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/SimplyE-Exhibition-in-Craftswirl-Armagh-Visitor-Information-Centre-Armagh-P85718\/\">SimplyE-Exhibition<\/a>\nArmagh, 2 \u2013 31 January 2020. Craftswirl @ Armagh Visitor Information Centre are\ndelighted to showcase a beautiful exhibition by SimplyE for their January\nexhibition. SimplyE is a maker, designer and a weaver of bespoke leather and\nweave products for use within the home and fashion industry which are all\nindividually hand woven from her design studio in County Armagh.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\n<a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/Philanthropy-Past-and-Present-Tour-of-Clifton-House-Belfast-P85792\/\">Philanthropy-Past-and-Present-Tour<\/a>\nBelfast, 10 January \u2013 28 February 2020. Clifton House is an impressive Georgian\nbuilding, set in tranquil landscaped gardens in the heart of Belfast. Opened in\n1774 by Belfast Charitable Society, the building was used as a nursing home and\nhospital for older people and is now a unique event venue and visitor\nattraction. The January and February tours explore the city\u2019s oldest working\nbuilding, set up by philanthropic merchants as the Belfast Poor House. Hear\nstories of its work and those who sought refuge in its walls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\n<a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/David-Meade-Catch-Meade-If-You-Can-Downpatrick-P85320\/\">David-Meade-Catch-Meade-If-You-Can<\/a>\nDownpatrick, 11 January 2020. Described across the world as &#8220;Jaw\nDropping&#8221; and &#8220;Hilarious&#8221;, Northern Ireland&#8217;s record breaking\nMind Reader Meade is back on home soil to amaze everyone in his funniest and\nmost interactive show yet: &#8220;Catch Meade If You Can&#8221;. You simply have\nto see this show to believe it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\n<a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/Walled-City-400-Londonderry-Derry-P79559\/\">Walled-City-400<\/a>\nDerry~Londonderry, 18 February 2019 to 31 March 2020. 2019 marked the 400th\nanniversary of the completion of the Derry Walls. Built from 1613 to 1619, the\nWalls are the largest ancient monument in Northern Ireland, the only remaining\nWalled City in Ireland and one of the finest examples of Walled Cities in\nEurope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\n<a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/On-Refusal-Representation-Resistance-in-Contemporary-American-Art-Belfast-P84745\/\">On-Refusal-Representation-Resistance-in-Contemporary-American-Art<\/a>\nBelfast, 25 October 2019 \u2013 19 January 2020. Proposing the body as a site of\npolitical enquiry, \u2018On Refusal\u2019 explores a return to figuration in the\npractices of a generation of artists currently working out of the United\nStates, and examines the political impetus for this reinvestment in the body\nand notions of embodiment as a subject of art in the context of contemporary\nAmerica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\n<a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/Life-Cycles-by-Lorna-Smyth-Enniskillen-P85768\/\">Life-Cycles-by-Lorna-Smyth<\/a>\nEnniskillen, 2 December 2019 \u2013 18 April 2020. This showcase of new works,\ncurated by renowned artist Lorna Smyth, encompasses the four seasons in one\nyear. This\nDecember, take a trip to the award-winning Museum of Free Derry to see one of\ntheir most poignant and affective exhibitions yet, \u2018Lost Childhood Exhibition\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>9.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nmni.com\/whats-on\/craft-experiences-blacksmithing-workshop\">blacksmithing-workshop<\/a>\nHolywood, 9 January 2020. Join the resident blacksmith for a half-day\nblacksmithing experience in a traditional nineteenth century forge. Experience\nwhat is was like to work in a blacksmith\u2019s forge in the nineteenth century.
