Last year marked the 400th anniversary of\nthe completion of the Derry Walls. Opened in 1774 by Belfast Charitable Society,\nthe building was used as a nursing home and hospital for older people, now\ntransformed into a unique event venue and visitor attraction. The January and\nFebruary tours explore the city\u2019s oldest working building, set up by\nphilanthropic merchants as the Belfast Poor House.
