{"id":1848,"date":"2010-08-11T12:25:36","date_gmt":"2010-08-11T11:25:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.whatsonni.com\/blog\/?p=1848"},"modified":"2010-08-11T12:25:36","modified_gmt":"2010-08-11T11:25:36","slug":"national-trust-wants-your-books","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/2010\/08\/national-trust-wants-your-books\/","title":{"rendered":"National Trust wants your books!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The National Trust is calling on the public to donate their used and\u00a0unwanted books to their second-hand bookshops, run entirely by volunteers, in locations throughout Northern Ireland.<\/p>\n<p>All manner of publications and music &#8211; fiction, biographies, cookery books, children\u2019s titles, coffee table books, CDs or LPs as well as music sheets will be gratefully received by the charity\u2019s book shop volunteers.<\/p>\n<p>There are currently six shops in Northern Ireland, located at Mount Stewart, Castle Ward, The Argory, Rowallane Garden, Florence Court and Springhill.\u00a0 All profits received through the selling of used books are re-invested back in to the property to support special conservation projects.<\/p>\n<p>Everyone loves to peruse a second hand bookshop and pick up a rare novel, or childhood favourite story that was discarded long ago.\u00a0 With more and more people tightening their purse strings, National Trust second-hand book shops offer the opportunity to pick up a bargain and to support Northern Ireland\u2019s leading conservation charity.<\/p>\n<p>If you have any used books you would like to donate to your local bookshop, please contact your local National Trust property.<\/p>\n<p>Why not visit your local shop and pick up a bargain.\u00a0 Also make a note in your diary for the annual Book Fairs.\u00a0 At Castle Ward on 30-31 October you\u2019ll be hard pushed not to find a bargain while on the 7 November The Argory Book Fair will have more books on offer than you can carry!<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The National Trust is calling on the public to donate their used and\u00a0unwanted books to their second-hand bookshops, run entirely by volunteers, in locations throughout Northern Ireland.
