Would you like to take part this year?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img src=\"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/press-1024x576.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-19154\" width=\"472\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>This year marks the 24th year of European Heritage Open Days (EHOD) in Northern Ireland. It\u2019s an annual celebration of local architecture, history and culture. It\u2019s when hundreds of properties and locations open their doors and organise free events for the public each September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>EHOD provides a unique opportunity for the public to see \u2018behind closed doors\u2019 at a variety of historic places, many of which are not normally open to the public.<\/li><li>It\u2019s when the public can enjoy talks, tours, exhibitions, workshops, walks, traditional skills demonstrations.<\/li><li>It\u2019s also a celebration of Northern Ireland\u2019s history and culture through art, literature, song, dance, drama, film, food and crafts.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Getting involved<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your business can take part in EHOD by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>putting on an event<\/li><li>opening a historic property or&nbsp;building of interest to the public<\/li><li>hosting an online event<\/li><li>contributing digital content<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The physical events are on 11 &amp; 12 September whilst the digital offerings run from 6 to 12 September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are interested&nbsp;you can to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.surveymonkey.co.uk\/r\/EHOD2021\">register with the Department for Communities.<\/a> The <strong>deadline for registrations&nbsp;is 23:59 on Wednesday&nbsp;5 May 2021<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Help to promote your offer for FREE<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EHOD is co-ordinated by Department for Communities &#8211; Historic Environment Division. They\u2019ll help you promote your offer to the public for FREE on @LoveHeritageNI social media channels, Dept. for Communities website, Discover NI website and in an e-brochure.
