{"id":20911,"date":"2023-01-19T11:36:17","date_gmt":"2023-01-19T10:36:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/?p=20911"},"modified":"2023-01-19T11:36:17","modified_gmt":"2023-01-19T10:36:17","slug":"get-inspired-with-an-exciting-range-of-events-exhibitions-and-workshops-from-causeway-coast-and-glens-borough-councils-arts-team","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/2023\/01\/get-inspired-with-an-exciting-range-of-events-exhibitions-and-workshops-from-causeway-coast-and-glens-borough-councils-arts-team\/","title":{"rendered":"Get inspired with an exciting range of events, exhibitions and workshops from Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council\u2019s Arts team."},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council\u2019s Arts Service is pleased to unveil its latest Arts Guides packed with creative opportunities and cultural highlights.<\/h4>\n<p><strong>From January until March 2023, there\u2019s an exciting array of events, exhibitions, and workshops to look forward to.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright wp-image-20912\" src=\"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/1-2-1024x692.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"530\" height=\"358\" \/>At Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre in Limavady, highlights include the Hayward Gallery touring exhibition, \u2018Arts Forms in Nature\u2019 by <strong>Karl Blossfeldt which runs from January 20<sup>th<\/sup> &#8211; February 17th. This is an incredible opportunity to see an exemplary collection of the <\/strong>internationally <strong>acclaimed artist\u2019s close-up images of plants and flora. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In the Danny Boy Auditorium, there\u2019s a great line up of live entertainment including Chicago Bluegrass band\u00a0<strong>Special Consensus and a night of comedy from Colin Murphy.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>As part of The Steinbeck Festival, there\u2019ll be a performance from <\/strong>American Blues singer<strong>\u00a0Mirenda Rosenberg<\/strong><strong>, <\/strong><strong>Mark Carruthers will be in conversation with Martin O\u2019Neill OBE and Tenx9 will return with an evening of the best true-life stories about journeys. The galleries will host the Dustbowl Photo Exhibition<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>and the\u00a0<strong>Steinbeck Connection Primary School\u2019s Competition<\/strong> exhibition. Visitors will have the chance to explore a selection of Steinbeck\u2019s work through talks and book club discussions.<\/p>\n<p>Over the next three months the programme also includes various film screenings, workshops in quilling, wool painting, ceramics, creative writing, and some fantastic activities for kids alongside community activities such as\u00a0<strong>Sound Connections<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Into Film Festival<\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In Portstewart, Flowerfield Arts Centre will showcase some fantastic exhibitions including \u2018Creative Voices: What Autism Means to Me in association with the Education Authority AASI, \u2018Disruptive Women\u2019 by Conflict Textiles, and \u2018Uncertain Landscapes\u2019 by contemporary artists Alex Dewart and Heather McAteer.<\/p>\n<p>The auditorium will host live music, dance and film, including a performance in collaboration with Echo Echo Festival of Dance and Movement by Fiddler <strong>Ultan O&#8217;Brien<\/strong>\u00a0(Slow Moving Clouds) and percussive dancer\u00a0<strong>Nic Gareiss<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>(This is How we Fly).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Alongside this, the Replay Theatre Company will stage PRISM<\/strong><strong>,<\/strong>\u00a0its new inclusive and accessible family theatre and there will be screenings of\u00a0<strong>My Year Living Mindfully<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Lyra (2022) <\/strong>and a performance from experimental folk musician,\u00a0<strong>Joshua Burnside<\/strong>, taking place in March.<\/p>\n<p>As well as community activities including\u00a0<strong>Space to Write, Into Film Festival<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>and<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Friday Art Club<\/strong>, Flowerfield will also host several workshops and events in association with the\u00a0<strong>NI Science Festival<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>You won\u2019t want to miss how to learn to swing dance in a day or sign up for creative workshops in photography, ceramics, glassmaking, and painting; along with activities for children and families including a series of workshops for autistic children and a parent\/carer.<\/p>\n<p>Creative options for adults also extend to Ballymoney Town Hall and Sheskburn House Ballycastle, where there will be workshops in painting and patchwork.<\/p>\n<p>The new Arts Guide is available to download from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flowerfield.org\">www.flowerfield.org<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.roevalleyarts.com\">www.roevalleyarts.com<\/a> or drop into Flowerfield Arts Centre or Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre to pick up a copy.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council\u2019s Arts Service is pleased to unveil its latest Arts Guides packed with creative opportunities and cultural highlights.
