{"id":2225,"date":"2010-09-22T13:47:54","date_gmt":"2010-09-22T12:47:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.whatsonni.com\/blog\/?p=2225"},"modified":"2010-09-22T13:47:54","modified_gmt":"2010-09-22T12:47:54","slug":"best-selling-author-and-screenwriter-colin-bateman-confirms-guest-appearance-at-aspects-irish-literature-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/2010\/09\/best-selling-author-and-screenwriter-colin-bateman-confirms-guest-appearance-at-aspects-irish-literature-festival\/","title":{"rendered":"Best-selling author and screenwriter Colin Bateman confirms guest appearance at Aspects Irish Literature Festival"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.whatsonni.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/aspects2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-2226\" title=\"aspects\" src=\"http:\/\/www.whatsonni.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/aspects2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"462\" height=\"137\" \/><\/a>Bangor-born author and screenwriter<strong> <\/strong>of <em>Divorcing Jack<\/em><strong>, <\/strong>Colin Bateman, has confirmed that he will be making a guest appearance at the 19<sup>th<\/sup> Aspects Irish Literature Festival when it takes place in North Down from 22-26 September.<\/p>\n<p>The prolific author will join the Festival\u2019s already stellar lineup that includes fellow Irish crime writers Declan Hughes, author of the <em>Ed Loy PI<\/em> series and Alex Barclay whose new book, <em>Time of Death<\/em>, was launched in July 2010.<\/p>\n<p>Bateman will read from his latest book<em> Dr. Yes.<\/em>, which is the latest installment in his Mystery Man series, in which Mystery Man, the owner of the fictional No Alibis bookstore combines book selling with solving crimes in the Belfast area, via many trips to Starbucks.<\/p>\n<p>Festival Director, Patricia Hamilton commented, \u201cAs Northern Ireland&#8217;s longest running literature festival, Aspects has come of age whilst managing to remain true to its original ethos. \u00a0It promotes Irish writing in all its forms and has lured big-names to the intimate surroundings of North Down.
