{"id":23134,"date":"2024-08-22T10:58:01","date_gmt":"2024-08-22T09:58:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/?p=23134"},"modified":"2024-08-22T10:58:01","modified_gmt":"2024-08-22T09:58:01","slug":"embracing-giant-sights-through-little-eyes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/2024\/08\/embracing-giant-sights-through-little-eyes\/","title":{"rendered":"Embracing giant sights through little eyes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>Tourism NI\u2019s young \u2018Adventure Ambassador\u2019 enjoys some of Northern Ireland\u2019s world class attractions and experiences<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>From exploring the depths of the Marble Arch Caves to the world-renowned Giant\u2019s Causeway and even the stars above at the OM Dark Sky Park and Observatory, Northern Ireland is perfect for making core family memories.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright wp-image-23135\" src=\"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/1-2-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/>You\u2019re only a small step away from giant experiences as Tourism Northern Ireland\u2019s \u2018Adventure Ambassador\u2019 eight-year-old Anna McGuinness and her family have been discovering.<\/p>\n<p>Having won TNI\u2019s Giant Memory Making competition earlier this year, Adventure Ambassador Anna, and her family, have been busy enjoying fun-filled day trips and short breaks across Northern Ireland and have put together a host of videos showcasing their giant adventures.<\/p>\n<p>Narrated by Anna, the three videos provide a showcase of the McGuinness family\u2019s trips to County Tyrone, County Armagh, County Fermanagh and the Causeway Coast.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt has been great fun exploring Northern Ireland with my family,\u201d said Anna.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are so many amazing places to see and things to do here and they\u2019re all just a short journey away from our home.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy sister (Bonnie) and I have had an amazing time so far and we can\u2019t wait to continue our giant adventures across counties Armagh, Down and Londonderry with our mum, dad and dog Pepper.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In County Tyrone, the intrepid explorers enjoyed zip-lining and mountain climbing at <a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/things-to-do\/todds-leap-activity-centre-p687561\">Todd\u2019s Leap Activity Centre<\/a>, stepped back in time at the <a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/things-to-do\/ulster-american-folk-park-p687551\">Ulster American Folk Park<\/a> and learning all about the night sky at <a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/things-to-do\/om-dark-sky-park-and-observatory-p742341\">OM Dark Sky Park and Observatory<\/a>. They also came face to face with a giant when they met <a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/blog\/read\/2023\/08\/the-sperrin-sculpture-trail-a-giant-adventure-b302\">Ceold\u00e1n: The Stargazer<\/a> at Davagh Forest, part of the Sperrin Sculpture Trail.<\/p>\n<p>On the Causeway Coast they spent time at <a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/things-to-do\/broughgammon-farm-economusee-artisans-p719741\">Broughgammon Farm<\/a> before departing Ballycastle harbour for a tour along the North Coast with Kintra Boat Tours. The family enjoyed lunch with Pepper at the <a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/accommodation\/marine-hotel-ballycastle-p705751\">Marine Hotel Ballycastle<\/a> and stopped at <a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/things-to-do\/dunluce-castle-p675011\">Dunluce Castle<\/a>. They learned about the legend of Finn McCool at the <a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/things-to-do\/giants-causeway-p742371\">Giant\u2019s Causeway<\/a> and then dipped their toes in the water at Whiterocks Beach before heading to dinner at <a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/food-and-drink\/ramore-restaurant-p697481\">Ramore<\/a>, Anna recommends the brownie.<\/p>\n<p>Before heading to County Fermanagh, the McGuinness family stopped by Portadown to enjoy the Orchard County at <a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/things-to-do\/long-meadow-cider-farm-tour-and-tasting-experience-p768331\">Long Meadow Farm<\/a>. After they tasted the fresh apple juice and treats, they made their way to a lakeside lodge at the <a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/accommodation\/killyhevlin-lakeside-lodges-p685821\">Killyhevlin Hotel<\/a> before exploring <a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/things-to-do\/devenish-island-monastic-site-p675491\">Devenish Island<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/discovernorthernireland.com\/things-to-do\/enniskillen-castle-p742361\">Enniskillen Castle<\/a> on the Erne Water Taxi.
