Over the weekend, the crew will be on the pier nearby, giving people the chance to meet them, including Luke Powell, who built\u00a0<i>Pellew<\/i>, and to learn about the ship, it\u2019s history and about the voyage they have been making.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Sea Bangor will also welcome crew personnel from HMS\u00a0<i>Bangor<\/i>, attending the event in a representative capacity. While the vessel itself will not be present, due\u00a0to\u00a0ongoing\u00a0repairs\u00a0following\u00a0a\u00a0collision, the crew\u2019s attendance reflects Bangor\u2019s ongoing links with the Royal Navy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Mayor of Ards and North Down, Councillor Gillian McCollum, said:<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">\u201cSea Bangor is a fantastic celebration of our city\u2019s maritime heritage and shared connection to the sea. It\u2019s a pleasure to officially open the event and welcome visitors, crews and families to enjoy everything Bangor has to offer on land and sea this bank holiday weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b>On\u2011the\u2011water activity and military rowing race<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">On the water activity returns to Bangor Bay throughout the weekend, including rowing races, \u2018Have a Go\u2019 sessions, kayaking, paddleboarding, canoeing, and boat trips exploring Bangor\u2019s maritime heritage\u00a0<b>(pre-booking required<\/b>). A military rowing race will take place on Sunday 24 May from 12 noon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b>A bank holiday celebration for all<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Sea Bangor 2026 will also feature maritime\u2011themed entertainment, local food and drink, family attractions and market stalls along the seafront.
