{"id":2885,"date":"2011-04-18T11:03:37","date_gmt":"2011-04-18T10:03:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.whatsonni.com\/blog\/?p=2885"},"modified":"2011-04-18T11:09:21","modified_gmt":"2011-04-18T10:09:21","slug":"free-family-fun-in-bangor-this-easter-monday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/2011\/04\/free-family-fun-in-bangor-this-easter-monday\/","title":{"rendered":"FREE FAMILY FUN IN BANGOR THIS EASTER MONDAY"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><a href=\"http:\/\/northdowntourism.com\/Home.aspx\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-2891\" title=\"easter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.whatsonni.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/easter1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"101\" height=\"383\" \/><\/a>Yes, it is still possible to have a good time without taking out a mortgage!<\/h2>\n<p>Why not come along to Bangor this Easter for a day packed full with free family fun.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Bangor\u2019s seafront will have something to appeal to everyone from 12.00 \u2013 6.00 pm.<\/p>\n<p>Starting at the McKee Clock arena over 150 of Ireland\u2019s top modified cars will be displayed all day.\u00a0 The organisers boldly promise to offer \u2018cars more luxurious than a Bentley, faster than a Ferrari and with more toys than a Mercedes\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Strolling along the promenade, children can dress up as pirates, dance along to the Blackbeard Jump, the Jolly Roger Jiggle and The Land Ahoy Jive or just play a quick game of Connect 4 or Jenga.<\/p>\n<p>With live street theatre and Ireland\u2019s first ever upside down bike expect to be entertained for the whole day.<\/p>\n<p>At 3.00 pm over 180 children from St Malachy\u2019s Primary School, Cygnet House, St Columbanus College, Friend\u2019s Dance, Barre De Soul, Rathgael Gymnastics and St Gall\u2019s Brownies and Guides will be taking to the streets as part of a spectacular pirate parade.<\/p>\n<p>The Mayor of North Down, Councillor John Montgomery will lead off the parade in a bright yellow Mustang from the Leisure Centre onto Main Street, along Quay Street, turning into High Street and making its way back up to the Leisure Centre.<\/p>\n<p>At 4.00 pm at Pickie Glenn Ross will pull in the crowds to watch him try to break a World Record.<\/p>\n<p>For further information check <a href=\"http:\/\/www.northdowntourism.com\/\">www.northdowntourism.com<\/a><\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yes, it is still possible to have a good time without taking out a mortgage!
