After a fantastic summer of sport, it seems only fitting that North Down Borough Council should welcome one of the UK\u2019s best known and respected sports writers to this year\u2019s Aspects Festival.<\/h2>\n

The respected sports writer Kevin McCarra who will be reading and talking about what'\u0080\u0099s involved in covering the \u0080Beautiful Game\u0099 as part of the Aspects Irish Literature Festival which is taking place at Bangor Abbey on Friday 28th September 2012.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

A man who has reported on football for many years for The Guardian, Kevin McCarra will be reading and talking about what\u2019s involved in covering the \u2018Beautiful Game\u2019 on Friday 28th<\/sup> September 2012<\/strong> at 7.00pm. Tickets cost \u00a39 (\u00a37 concession).<\/p>\n

Kevin McCarra was born in Scotland and has for many years written for the Guardian on all elements of the ups and downs of each football season, also contributing to the weekly Guardian football podcasts. Working on matches at every level, from this summer\u2019s Euro 2012 championships through to the weekly cut and thrust of goals given and disputed, transfer windows and reflections on the wider issues at play in football, Kevin has seen it all and written about it with his trademark insight and gift for making sport live on paper.<\/p>\n

This is a great opportunity to hear a writer passionate about the sport he covers talk about writing and analysing football \u2013 and if you\u2019re an intrigued Guardian reader, who knows? He may even offer some clues to the identity of the paper\u2019s \u2018Secret Footballer\u2019!<\/p>\n
