{"id":5130,"date":"2012-10-28T09:51:49","date_gmt":"2012-10-28T08:51:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/?p=5130"},"modified":"2012-10-28T09:52:01","modified_gmt":"2012-10-28T08:52:01","slug":"glasgowbury-expand-to-two-day-event","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/2012\/10\/glasgowbury-expand-to-two-day-event\/","title":{"rendered":"Glasgowbury expand to two day event"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><em>Draperstown event offers two days for the price of one!<\/em><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/01.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-5131\" title=\"01\" src=\"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"576\" height=\"346\" \/><\/a>GLASGOWBURY have announced their decision to expand the annual new music festival to a two-day event in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Northern Ireland\u2019s Best Festival will link with the City of Culture in 2013 to include an exciting Derry showcase on Friday 19<sup>th<\/sup> July before staging the best of the rest on Saturday 20<sup>th<\/sup> July.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2018small but massive\u2019 event has provided a platform for some of the best in new and emerging homegrown talent from throughout Ireland since it started over 13 years ago; most recently welcoming Therapy?, The Japanese Popstars, Fighting With Wire and over 50 others to the 2012 edition of the festival.<\/p>\n<p>And, in an exciting twist, the Mid-Ulster group have also announced that tickets will be frozen at 2012 prices \u2013 which means that you get two days for the price of one.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe understand that times are financially difficult for some people and we want to make the festival an event that everyone can afford to attend,\u201d said organiser Paddy Glasgow.<\/p>\n<p>A festival and camping ticket at \u00a345 will now include two days of entertainment while a festival only ticket permits entry to the event on Saturday as normal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re excited to be growing the festival to offer an extra day\u2019s entertainment and to be working with Derry as the City Of Culture to make it a reality,\u201d Paddy added.<\/p>\n<p>The line-up has yet to be announced for next year\u2019s celebration but is expected to include some of the best new and established talent.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlans for next year\u2019s festival are beginning to take shape already and we have some exciting ideas that we\u2019re working on so watch this space.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Glasgowbury 2013 will return to its Eagle\u2019s Rock home across the weekend of July 19<sup>th<\/sup> \u2013 21<sup>st<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>Tickets for Glasgowbury 2013 will go on sale next week from www.glasgowbury.com and the annual submissions period will open later in November to offer artists the opportunity to submit for consideration for the festival.<\/p>\n<p>For more information on all things Glasgowbury, see www.glasgowbury.com<\/p>\n<p><strong>SMALL BUT MASSIVE!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Draperstown event offers two days for the price of one!
