\"\"<\/a>This spring the National Trust is opening its houses, gardens and industrial heritage sites across Northern Ireland for free, for an entire weekend!<\/p>\n

On Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 April, everyone will have the opportunity to explore some of Northern Ireland\u2019s special places, absolutely free. With winter behind us, the Free Weekend provides an opportunity to reconnect with the great outdoors, step back in time at an historic mansion, see and hear our industrial heritage at work or just relax and enjoy some tasty refreshments or a spot of retail therapy!<\/p>\n

Heather Thompson, National Trust Director for Northern Ireland, said:<\/p>\n

\u201cOur free weekend is the perfect chance to escape the stresses of\u00a0our busy lives and get outdoors to breathe\u00a0in the springtime fresh air\u00a0or take inspiration from the beauty\u00a0and unique stories associated with many of our special places. We hope\u00a0many of you, with your friends and family will visit us and discover that we really have something for everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n

The National Trust is encouraging everyone to share memories of their special places on a new innovative Facebook app. The free weekend provides the perfect opportunity to choose your special place and enter the Facebook app competition. The lucky winner will be treated to a stay at a National Trust holiday cottage and also take part in a photo shoot with a professional photographer at their special place.<\/p>\n
