{"id":9603,"date":"2015-07-27T11:36:12","date_gmt":"2015-07-27T10:36:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/?p=9603"},"modified":"2015-07-27T11:36:12","modified_gmt":"2015-07-27T10:36:12","slug":"relaxed-performance-of-oliver-at-theatre-at-the-mill","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/2015\/07\/relaxed-performance-of-oliver-at-theatre-at-the-mill\/","title":{"rendered":"Relaxed Performance of Oliver at Theatre at The Mill"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1>Going to the Theatre can be overwhelming and intimidating for many people.\u00a0 This year, as part of our 5<sup>th<\/sup> Anniversary celebrations, we are staging a <strong>relaxed performance<\/strong> of our Summer Youth Theatre production <em>Oliver <\/em>on Saturday 1 August at 2.30pm.<\/h1>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/press111.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-9604\" title=\"press1\" src=\"https:\/\/whatsonni.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/press111.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"414\" height=\"277\" \/><\/a>Our relaxed performance is open to all, but is adapted to accommodate people who may have sensory or learning issues.\u00a0 These can include (but are not limited to) autism spectrum disorders, sensory processing disorders, Down\u2019s syndrome and learning difficulties. \u00a0The relaxed performance of Oliver is suitable for children and adults and will feature adapted lighting and lowered sound levels. \u00a0Audience members will be free to talk and move around the auditorium if they wish, we also have an open door policy so patrons can make use of the quiet room as they please. \u00a0Other facilities include ample free car parking, accessible seating, accessible bathroom facilities on all levels and a hearing loop system.<\/p>\n<p>Lionel Bart\u2019s sparkling musical adaption of Charles Dicken\u2019s novel tells the story of nine-year-old orphan Oliver Twist who falls in with a group of street-urchin pickpockets led by the Artful Dodger and masterminded by the wily and devious criminal Fagin.
