This charming 2-bedroom cottage which has been tastefully refurbished, is situated in the Antrim Coast and Glens area of outstanding natural beauty and has a large, enclosed garden. With its cosy sitting-room and warm open fire, it is also an ideal nook for a winter break away from it all. No smoking.

It is situated on the slopes of Knocklayde Mountain on an idyllic, elevated site and enjoys magnificent panoramic views of the mountain itself, Glenshesk, one of the Nine Glens of Antrim and on a clear day even The Sperrin mountains can be seen thirty-five miles away. It provides a perfect accommodation base for visitors to explore The Glens of Antrim and The Causeway Coast, and it is less than 8 miles to Ballycastle seafront, beach, cafes, restaurants, and pubs including “The Salthouse” hotel and “Thyme and Co” café and pizzeria. Plan your self-catering holiday to coincide with the Lammas Fair, Rathlin Sound Maritime Festival or the annual Ballycastle tennis tournaments.

Annie’s Cottage is 2 miles from Breen Oak Wood, where Section 1 of the long-distance walking route, The Moyle Way concludes. Breen Oakwood Nature Reserve Walk offers a 1.7 mile loop trail, or you may wish to explore section 2 of the Moyle Way. While the Stroan Road ascends to the cottage, it then levels to run parallel with the Glenshesk Road, so there are walking options locally to suit all levels of fitness.

Looking for another day outdoors, why not catch the ferry from Ballycastle to Rathlin Island, take the minibus to the RSPB Rathlin West Light Seabird Centre where you can view Northern Ireland's largest seabird colony and visit Rathlin's unique 'upside down' lighthouse, part of the Great Lighthouses of Ireland Trail. Annie’s Cottage is also an excellent base for Armoy Road Race, the Race of Legends. As a motorbike enthusiast your journey towards Armoy village (4 miles) from Annie’s Cottage will either bring you to the Church Bends section of the circuit or Balaney Cross, depending on which route you take and post racing why not enjoy a welcome drink and meal in “The Armada Inn.”

If you are a Game of Thrones ® fan, the Dark Hedges lie within 6 miles of the cottage and Shean’s Horse Farm and Heritage Centre is 5 miles from the property.
