The Viewpoint is an exclusive Beach House located in Greencastle, Kilkeel, County Down.  With panoramic views of the Irish Sea, the Cooley and Mourne Mountains, it has all to offer a visitor.  With a secluded beach, lovely walks, and availability to fishing and diving, it is perfect. 

It has a wood burning stove, as well a Central Heating which will ensure a pleasant stay even in the wintry nights. Lovely to see the sea pounding along the shore, and the winds howling, and sitting with a nice warm drink.

The property itself boasts 2  double bedrooms all ensuite with towels and shower gels provided, a fully equiped Kitchen with all facilities to allow cooking in-house, a wood burning stove, televisions in every room, fast wifi, and a beautiful top floor offering luxurious seating and unparalleled views.

A delight at night to sit and watch the world go by.

Kilkeel the nearest fishing port offers a range of eating establishments, sit-in or carry out with fresh fish to buy from the local shops.

Carlingford Ferry takes you to Greenore where there are an innumeral number of sights, pubs and restaurants. 

 A mainly farming community, with fishing creels,and catching lobster and crab providing an income to the local fishermen.  There is the opportunity to hire a boat to go fishing for Cod, Mackeral etc., whatever you may be lucky to catch.  There are farm shops offering local honey, potatoes and free range eggs!!

There are a range of golf clubs within the area including the world reknowned Newcastle Royal County Down, used by many professionals coming in from around the world to play.

If you like walking, the Mourne and Cooley Mountains are supberb as well as the local Parks, Mourne Park, Kilkeel, Tullymore, Newcastle, Castlewellan Forest Park and Slieve Gullion in Newry.  All a well worth a visit.

Situated 45mins from Belfast, 1hr from Dublin, the Viewpoint is an excellent hub to travel both North and South of Ireland. The Titanic quarter and Game of Thrones areas are within easy travelling distance as well as the Guinness Storehouse, Trinity Library with the Book of Kells, and many other treats in Dublin.


Directions from Town

Your own transport would be advantageous to see local sights, and the premises are located 5mile from Kilkeel, 25mile from Newry, and 23mile from Newcastle.  Bus facilities to the property are poor, and there are no rail stations.  Newry is the closest railway station connecting Belfast and Dublin.

There are also daily frequent buses from Newry taking you to Dublin airport. 

There are two airports in Northern Ireland, George Best in the City and Belfast International outside the City. Taxis are available.
