Delamont Country Park
Delamont Country Park is the perfect blend of adventure and natural beauty, offering an unforgettable experience and scenic walks for visitors of all ages. Set on 200 acres along the picturesque shores of Strangford Lough, the park provides a breathtaking window to this natural wonder, while also offering panoramic views of the majestic Mourne Mountains.
As you explore, you’ll be treated to stunning vistas that capture the beauty of Northern Ireland's landscape. Whether you're hopping aboard the charming miniature railway, wandering the scenic walking trails, or letting the kids enjoy the adventure playground, Delamont brims with excitement for everyone and this sprawling park boasts endless opportunities for outdoor fun. You can also horse ride in the park.
With its wide-open spaces, picnic areas, and iconic megalith, it’s the ideal destination for family outings, peaceful relaxation, and a true taste of the great outdoors. At Delamont Country Park, adventure and beauty come together to create lasting memories.
You can walk along the shores of Strangford Lough through a mixture of coastal, parkland and woodland which are all interlinked and can be easily added to or shortened. Mullagh Walk is 1km, Delamont Garden walk 1.2km, Strangford walk 2km, Corbally Walk 4km and the Longwalk is 7km. The walks are wheelchair accessible and there are mobility rambler scooters available for use in the park.
The Mullagh Walk is a short 1km way-marked trail walk and is suitable for buggies. All the walks in the park are inter linked and can be easily added to or shortened. The walks start and finish from the main car park.
Facilities onsite include a magnificent adventure playground for the children to enjoy. There is an open area for family picnics and barbeque tables adjacent to the car park.
Dogs are allowed in Delamont Country Park but must be kept on a lead at all times. There is a dog exercise field where leads are not required. Dogs are not permitted in the Children's Play Park.
Enjoy one of the fantastic countryside walks, there are a number of way-marked tails, you choose your distance from 1km to 7km.
Delamont Miniature Railway - A 1km long miniature railway operates on a seasonal basis. Enjoy a journey on our popular miniature railway. A fantastic treat for all the family.

The Steamers Coffee Kiosk is located at the start of the Miniature Railway (to the right-hand side of the play park). As well as hot drinks, there’s also ice cream and treats in store?for adults and kids alike. There are picnic table adjacent to and in the play park.

Getting to the start by car
Delamont Country Park is situated 30 minutes drive from Belfast and five minutes drive from Downpatrick on the A22 Downpatrick to Comber Road.
From Belfast follow the A1 to Ormeau Road/A24. Follow the A24 and A7 to Killyleagh Street in Crossgar. Continue on Killyleagh Street to Killyleagh. Follow Downpatrick Road to Delamont Country Park. Delamont Country Park is located on the left.
From Dublin continue on M1. Take A1 to Lower Quilly Road, Dromore. Follow B2 to Church Street/A24 in Ballynahinch. At roundabout take the 2nd exit onto Church Street A24. Turn left onto Downpatrick Road/B2. Turn right onto Belfast Road/A7. Follow Finnebrogue Road and A22 to Delamont Country Park. The entrance is on the right.
