Enjoy the May bank holiday on the beach and join us for a unique, fun challenge with a difference - strengthen new muscles, improve your balance, relieve stress, increase your focus and connect with nature - all while raising money to help others.

Our Waves of Hope is a new event, incorporating 3 elements (to represent the 3 people every day who are diagnosed with a blood cancer in Northern Ireland) :

  • a yoga session, a stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) session, and then a combination of the two with yoga poses on the paddleboard (SUP yoga).

The event is open to all abilities including beginners to yoga and/or paddleboarding. Jennifer and her assistant will guide all participants through poses which progressively become more challenging, allowing you to have a go under their watchful eye, and decide on your preferred level.

The SUP yoga is a challenging practice, so this is an opportunity to encourage your friends and family to sponsor you to push your limits and attempt something you have not done before, raising much-needed funds to continue the incredible work of Belfast's Blood Cancer Research Group.

This will be an uplifting, relaxing and also energising event giving you the opportunity to meet like-minded people while supporting a vital local cause to raise money to improve blood cancer treatments.

Taking place on the golden sands of Helen's Bay beach within Crawfordsburn Country Park, the event is guided by yoga teacher Jennifer Greenlees, who is also known locally for her personal challenge of paddleboarding solo around the coastline of Ireland.
