Come along to our Family Fun Festival at Dundrum Castle!
Join Historic Environment Division (HED) on Saturday, 2nd August, from 11am to 4pm for a free festival! No need to book in advance, just show up and enjoy a varierty of activities for all ages!
Expect archery, falconry, living history re-enactments, a pop-up museum, music, street performers and so much more! Plus, learn about the castle’s fascinating history, it was built around 1177 by John De Courcy as part of his coastal defence after invading Ulster. The castle is located on a wooded hiss north-west of Dundrum village near Newcastle with stunning views over Dundrum Bay.
Parking is available within Dundrum Village, and access to the Castle is via Castle Hill.
However, please note that the Dundrum Castle car park is only open to Blue Badge holders, and access around the castle may be challenging for wheelchair users as the site is a sloping rocky knoll.
