Award-winning Irish pianist Fiachra Garvey performs Beethoven, Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, Ravel & Rachmaninov in this captivating recital.
Leading Irish pianist Fiachra Garvey combines profound musical understanding with infectious enthusiasm, captivating audiences across Europe and beyond. Winner of the prestigious Jaques Samuel Competition (2012), he made his Wigmore Hall debut in 2013 and was awarded the National Concert Hall Dublin's "Rising Star" prize in 2011.
Fiachra graduated with distinction from the Royal Academy of Music, London (2013) and holds first-class honours degrees from the Royal Irish Academy of Music. He has performed concertos with orchestras including the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, RTÉ Concert Orchestra, and Janáček Philharmonic, working with conductors such as John Wilson and Theodore Kuchar.
Recent highlights include performances at Wigmore Hall, Bridgewater Hall Manchester, Snape Maltings Aldeburgh, and tours of Japan and China. He was the first classical artist invited to perform at Google Dublin. His debut CD "For the Piano" was praised by The Sunday Times for bringing "deep and infectious enthusiasm, combined with insight and technical comfort."
Fiachra is founder and artistic director of the West Wicklow Chamber Music Festival and Classical Vauxhall, London. He was awarded Associate of the Royal Academy of Music (ARAM) in 2018 and made Freeman of the City of London in 2022.
