It’s nearly time to kick start the new NIAAS season and I’m really pleased to be able to share details of our September speaker and talk. For our first lecture we are bringing back long time friend to the NIAAS and now becoming something of a regular, Dave Lillisfrom Limerick Astronomy Club. The title of his talk is ‘Venus in the Sun’
This meeting will be held in our regular venue of Ballyclare High School Lecture Theatre on Monday September 1st 2025 and starts at 8pm sharp.

About the talk: A walk through all the observed Venus transits and the stories and history that revolves around them
About Dave: I’ve been an amateur astronomer since the mid 1980’s. I’m currently secretary of the Limerick Astronomy Club and my main interests are Deep Sky Object viewing and our Planets. I try to observe these with as big a telescope I can afford and carry (^^Editor: See Picture Above ^^)!I also dabble in imaging. I will travel as far as it takes to get a good clear sky!
We’re really looking forward to getting the NIAAS season up and running again and I think you’ll agree there is no better start to the season than a talk from Dave.
Can’t wait to see you all again after the summer break and catch up with some tea and biscuits after the talk.
