Books, Ideas and Inspiration: Aspects Festival Returns

Aspects Festival returns to Bangor for its 34th year from 24 September – 5 October 2025. Northern Ireland’s longest-running literature festival promises an exciting line-up of author talks, creative workshops, music, art and special events.

This year’s highlights include award-winning naturalist Dara McAnulty, who launches his new book at Clandeboye Estate, journalist Stephen Walker in conversation with Lady Hermon at Bangor Abbey, on the life and legacy of David Trimble; and bestselling author Carol Drinkwater, discussing her new novel One Summer in Provence.

The festival will also honour the late poet Michael Longley with special guests sharing readings and memories, and an art exhibition at Bangor Library inspired by his work.

With a programme spanning poetry, memoir, history, nature writing and creative experiences, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Aspects Festival will take place in various locations around Bangor.
