A free music programme for aspiring musicians during the mid-term break.

Nerve Centre’s award-winning Hothouse programme is going on the road to South Armagh this Halloween.

The free music programme for young people will take place at Tí Chulainn cultural centre in Mullaghbawn from Monday 27 – Thursday 30 October.

Designed for musicians aged 13–18, this intensive four-day programme will give participants the chance to learn from industry professionals while forming groups and writing new songs.

You will form a band, work with professional industry mentors, write new songs linked to the local heritage and perform your new music at a special showcase event at the end of the programme.

New music produced during the programme will be linked to the life and work of renowned folklorist Michael J Murphy.

Whether you sing, play guitar, drums, bass, violin, saxophone — or any musical instrument — this is the perfect programme for you!

Programme schedule:

Monday 27 October — 1pm–4pm

Tuesday 28 October — 10am–3.30pm

Wednesday 29 October — 10am–3.30pm

Thursday 30 October — 10am–3pm

This Hothouse is being delivered as part of the Now We’re Talking project from Nerve Centre and the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland (PRONI), funded through the Archives Revealed programme.
