Looking for a fun, pressure-free way to lift your mood, meet new people, and get moving? Step into Social is a new dance and wellbeing programme designed to support adults living with mental health challenges. Whether you’re taking your first steps or rediscovering your rhythm, this is your space to unwind, connect, and simply enjoy the music.
What is Step into Social?
One in four of us will experience a mental health issue each year, and it can sometimes feel hard to reconnect with others. Step into Social offers a relaxed, welcoming environment where you can build confidence, find community, and rediscover the joy of movement. There’s no competition, no judgement - just good music, friendly faces, and the freedom to move at your own pace.
What to Expect
Each one-hour class is led by supportive and experienced teachers who’ll guide you through simple, uplifting social dance steps. You’ll start with gentle warm-ups, then learn easy moves that help you connect to the rhythm and the people around you. No partner, experience, or special gear needed - just wear something comfortable and come as you are. Classes are about feeling good, not getting it perfect.
Why Join?
Dance is proven to boost mood, ease anxiety, and build confidence. More than that, it brings people together. In our community sessions, 87% of participants report improved mental wellbeing, 79% improved social health, and 72% improved physical health. Step into Social is about rediscovering joy, routine, and a sense of belonging.
When and Where
Classes run weekly on Wednesday and Sunday evenings at: Dance Addiction Studios, Parkgate Avenue, Belfast, BT4 1JA
