Following the success of A Queer Dander, the 2025 exhibition at the MAC as part of Belfast Pride, artist Thomas Wells presents Flippin’ over the table, a series of community workshops.

Starting in April and culminating in a presentation of workshop material in July, Flippin’ over the table explores what Pride means in contemporary Ireland, and if Pride in 2026 reflects the intersectional needs of the wider LGBTQIA+ community.

This series of workshops invites the participants to imagine ‘What if…’ to consider how things like family, housing, jobs, politics could be different if we change the way we think, if we flip the perspective.

Flippin’ over the table  refers to the idea of dismantling established normative ideas, and considering how to reset the table from the chaos. These workshops will take the form of discussion and activity led by artist Thomas Wells. These workshops will be taking place at an important milestone in Belfast Pride's history as it commemorates 35 years, with the first pride march taking place in 1991.
