Internationally acclaimed playwright Ed Waugh visits Belfast and Derry/Londonderry for a series of free public talks exploring his new play The Cramlington Train Wreckers, coming to NI in July, which marks the centenary of the 1926 General Strike.

Based on a striking true story, the play follows eight miners imprisoned after a train derailment during the strike, in what was widely seen as a political punishment. Blending history, humour and powerful storytelling, it has already sold out theatres across England.

These informal talks offer a chance to hear directly from the writer about the story behind the production and the real events that inspired it.
