Join us at Carrickfergus Museum on Saturday 8th August for our Stone Age Fun Day – with exciting activities for all ages from 11am to 3pm. Come and learn about our human prehistoric past!

·         Visit the Town Hall courtyard to see Wild Walk Bushcraft’s Paul Moore crafting Stone Age tools using authentic techniques that are millions of years old.

·         Tale Time’s Vicki McFarland will be running children’s storytelling sessions at 11am and 2pm – learn about the end of the last Ice Age and how people adapted to the changing environment.

·         Visit our Pop-up Prehistoric Museum to handle real prehistoric artefacts and replica pieces and ask an archaeologist any questions you have about archaeology and the Stone Age.

·         Join artist Janet Crymble to craft your own Stone Age art and jewellery using a range of natural materials.

·         Visit Carrickfergus Museum’s latest exhibition – ‘Cutting Edge Technology: Stone Tools in Prehistory’, to see an exciting new collection of Mesolithic flint tools from Glynn, Co. Antrim and learn about the origins of stone tools and how they were made.
