Code Clock Senior Summer School of Programming – 10th Anniversary at Queen’s University Belfast

Looking for an engaging and genuinely worthwhile summer activity for your teenager? The Code Clock Senior Summer School of Programming returns to Queen’s University Belfast, and this year marks our 10th anniversary.

Over the past decade, Code Clock has worked with thousands of students across Northern Ireland, helping them develop real skills in coding, problem-solving and digital technology within a supportive and engaging environment.

Designed for post-primary students, the Senior Summer School (27th–31st July) offers a deeper, more challenging experience for those who want to move beyond basic coding and understand how technology is really created.

What students will learn and experience:

  • Game development using Unity and C#

  • An introduction to key coding technologies used in the real world

  • Programming skills developed through Python

  • Hands-on projects in app design, problem-solving and logical thinking

  • Opportunities to work collaboratively and develop their own tech ideas

New for our 10th anniversary:

  • Dev Day – a focused day of coding challenges to develop skills

  • Code Clock Innovation Lab – students design, build and pitch their own technology solutions

  • Expo Day – a showcase where students present their work

Students will also hear from guest speakers working in local IT companies, providing insight into careers in technology.

Why parents choose Code Clock:

  • Delivered by experienced, qualified computing teachers from leading schools

  • Builds confidence, creativity and real-world digital skills

  • Suitable for a wide range of abilities

  • Hosted in the Computer Science building at Queen’s University Belfast

This is more than just a summer course. It gives students the opportunity to gain practical skills, explore future career pathways and experience what studying technology at university could be like.
