Irish Walled Towns Celebrates Derry-Londonderry’s Historic Walls Heritage

There’s something for everyone this weekend as the Irish Walled Towns celebrations take place on Derry-Londonderry’s historic city walls.

Taking place on Saturday and Sunday, the event will provide free entertainment and family fun in and around those famous and iconic walls that stand prominently in the city’s skyline.

Speaking to local newspaper, The Derry Journal, the town’s Mayor Colum Eastwood had this to say: “The Irish Walled Towns Celebrations has so much to offer both local people and visitors to our City. Derry’s walls represent our unique cultural and archaeological heritage while also shaping the City’s present and its future. It’s wonderful to see the City Walls being celebrated over this fantastic two day festival which offers something to keep the whole family entertained.”
