Visit The Argory on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 August and take a step back in time to the Victorian era.
The National Trust property near Moy will host their annual Victorian Weekend where visitors have a one-off opportunity to experience life in 1847 on the beautiful Victorian estate.
One of the many highlights of the weekend will be a tour of The Argory House. Hear the gossip and tales of the Big House from The Housekeeper, Miss Hill, The Governess, Miss Daly and the Lady’s Maid, Miss McCall.
Traditional Victorian afternoon teas will be served in the stunning surrounds of the Octagon Room. Homemade scones with cream, fruit preserves, Victoria sponge, delicate finger sandwiches and tea or coffee await the discerning palate – an experience not to be missed!
There is something for everyone on Victorian Weekend – children can dress up in period costume and join in Victorian games. Laundry maid, Lizzie Conlon will need some help in the Laundry Yard and the Shop Keeper will be opening her Victorian Sweetshop for the occasion.
To complete a great day out, visitors can browse the Gift shop and second-hand Bookshop or take a relaxing stroll along the Blackwater River and Lime Tree Walk.
Victorian weekend will take place from 12-5pm each day on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 August. Normal estate charges apply and National Trust members are free. Additional charge for afternoon teas.
