Down

Meet medieval men at arms in their tower houses, hold the mini beasts in the marine lab,  explore the shore and enjoy great food and music at the annual Strangford Lough Festival from 10th to 14th June.

Armagh

The Armagh County Agricultural Show and Country Festival takes place this Saturday 13th June 2015 in the beautiful surroundings of Gosford Forest Park, close to the village of Markethill.  Armagh County Show is one of the longest-running Shows in Ireland with a report of a Show being held in the City of Armagh as far back as 1829.  In the Food Village, the Show has been selected to host a heat of “ The All Ireland Home Cook Championship” with eight cooks demonstrating ‘Creativity with Irish Ingredients’.  There is something for all the family. Fermanagh

Open Farm Weekend is a free, fun event which takes place every June. The initiative offers families the opportunity to experience life on a farm, meet the animals and learn about the ‘farm to fork’ journey.  This Saturday and Sunday working farms across Northern Ireland will be opening their gates to the public, with each farm hosting their own unique list of activities. On farm events may include; feeding the animals, ‘Big Food’ eating contests and fun rides for children.  In the Fermanagh area Tickety-Moo Farm, Cavanagh Free Range Egg Farm and Egerton Farm will be welcoming visitors over the course of the weekend.

Tyrone

Ever wondered how a theatre works or wanted to know exactly what is involved to make a production come to life?  The Alley Theatre Strabane are throwing open their doors on Saturday 13th June and inviting you to step behind the scenes, giving you the opportunity to access all areas of the Alley Theatre.  Throughout the day there will be paintshops, costume, wigs and make-up workshops plus their technical team will be hard at work, showing you exactly how the theatre operates behind the scenes.  This will be a packed day of activities and events for all ages.  Come along, meet the team and take part in FREE hands-on theatre fun.

Derry/Londonderry/Legenderry

The Danny Boy Jazz and Blues Festival brings a lively line-up to the Borough of Limavady. From Thursday 11th June to Sunday 14th June the festival schedule boasts a professional line-up of musicians. Jazz and Blues musicians have been attending the festival for 19 years and this year’s line-up includes artists Rackhouse Pilfer, Men N Black, Katharine Timoney and others.

Antrim

Antrim goes Dragon Style!  For a fantastic family fun day out by the water’s edge, Antrim Lough Shore Park is the place to be on  Saturday 13th June from 12 Noon – 3pm.   The Dragon Boat Race is organised to raise money for those living with cancer within the community. The Six Mile Water River will come alive with teams competing in Dragon Boats. The aim of the race is to beat the other competitors and win the coveted title of ‘Antrim Dragon Boat Champions’ and of course to raise money for a very good cause.  Children are encouraged to enter into the spirit of the day and come along in Dragon costume. Judging will take place at 2.30pm and prizes will be awarded for the most imaginative dragon costume.

Belfast

Design addicts and home makers from all over Ireland will be flocking to Belfast when The Modern Home Show appears at Malone House on Sunday 14th June, featuring a perfect blend of vintage interiors and contemporary design for the modern home. The unique and exciting event will afford visitors the perfect opportunity to choose unique focal pieces for the home from design originals of the 1930s – 1970s and to invest in the collectibles of the future from a carefully edited selection of Irish vintage dealers, designers and artisans.
