Friday 12 August, Fair Weather Fridays Outdoor Performances

Free entertainment, 12.30pm-1.30pm

With everything from music to circus performance and comedy, Conway Square in Newtownards will be the place to be on Friday’s between 12.30pm and 1.30pm throughout August.

In the event of inclement weather the performances will move into Ards Arts Centre.

Saturday 13 August, Peninsula Food Showcase: Portavogie ‘Seafood Festival’

The Harbour

Free, 12noon-6pm

The Portavogie Seafood Festival will be a celebration of Portavogie’s seafood heritage. Celebrity chef Jenny Bristow will be doing live cookery demonstrations alongside local chefs. The beach huts will be filled with local artisan producers from the Peninsula; there will be children’s activities, a fun fair, street theatre, sand pits, and much more.

Tuesday 23 August, Guided Walks & Tours: Bangor Christian Heritage Walk

Trace the steps of canons, priests and pilgrims in a tour that encompasses visits to Bangor Abbey, St Comgall’s Roman Catholic Church, First Bangor Presbyterian Church and the North Down Museum, where you can explore a life-size reconstruction of a monk’s cell.
